WELCOME TO THE BRANKSOMEWOOD HEALTHCARE CENTRE WEBSITE
The Branksomewood Healthcare Centre is a relatively large but friendly practice looking after approximately 12,900 patients attracting funding for approximately 11,250 of these. We have a team of 8 General Practitioner’s (GP) and a team of highly skilled practice nurses and allied health professionals. We offer full services as required under a General practice Contract. The practice also offers appointments with Counsellors and Psychologists, Community Midwives, Phlebotomy and Physiotherapy.
The Fleet locality practices are working together to share the provision of GP Extended Access. The practices involved are Branksomewood Surgery, Richmond Surgery and Crondall New Surgery. Fleet Medical Centre will join the group later next year.
In order to improve access the Surgeries will provide a partially fixed, rotating system of evening and Saturday morning clinics with both a GP and a nurse. Each of the three participating practices will see a combination of their own patients and patients from the other practices.
You will have the opportunity to be seen either at Branksomewood Healthcare Centre every Monday evening, every other Friday evening and/or every other Saturday morning or at another of the participating practices during the rest of the week up until 20:00hrs on a week night. Richmond Surgery share the Saturday morning provision with Branksomewood Healthcare Centre. Patients can choose to be seen at the other Surgeries if this is more convenient. When requesting an appointment do ask the Reception Team about the appointments at the other Practices; they will be able to book you into another Surgery where there is availability.
The GP/nurse will have access to view the medical records for non-registered patients. This access to the patient’s clinical record is limited to the GP/nurse with whom you have booked your appointment, for the appointment itself, and for 28 days afterwards.
PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP (PPG)
We are very keen to expand our current Patient Participation Group to include a wider range of patients from all ages and backgrounds. This enables us to provide the best possible service we can for our patients. It is your chance to have your say. The group meets regularly with the Partners and Practice Manager to discuss many aspects such as: how the Practice is managed; any issues that may have arisen; current service provision and plans for the future . Your ideas and suggestions are most welcome. If you are interested in joining the group please forward us your details which in turn will be passed to the PPG Chair who will then be in touch with you.
NAMED GP FOR ALL PATIENTS
Please be informed that the named GP requirement has been extended to all patients (previously this only applied to those aged over 75 years) ALL patients, including children have been allocated a named accountable GP. Your GP will be the GP your were registered with (unless you have specifically requested that you move to another or have been reallocated a GP after the retirements of Dr Swift and Cristofani and the change in lists in Jan 2015). If you have any questions about who your named GP is please ask a Receptionist who will be able to help you.
FRIENDS AND FAMILY
Please do complete our short 'Friends and Family' survey using the Freinds and Family test button to the right of this screen. We are keen to have your feedback so that we can review the services we offer.
A carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or addiction who would otherwise be unable to cope without the carers support. Please inform us if you are a carer to enable us to offer support.
Please contact the Surgery WELL IN ADVANCE (at least 8 weeks ahead) to allow time for you to complete travel forms, for us to assess your requirements and book an appointment prior to your holiday.
PUBLICATION OF GP NET EARNINGS
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice, and the required disclosure is shown below as of 28 Mar 18:
The average pay for GPs working in Branksomewood Healthcare Centre in the last financial year was £53,304 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 3 full time GPs, 6 part-time GPs and 1 locum GP who worked in the practice for more than six months.
NHS England requires that the mean earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is published by 31 March each year at the latest. However it should be noted that the prescribed method of calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice and should not be used for any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparisons with other practices
